Entegro is seeking motivated, professional technicians to support a large-scale telecommunications network decommissioning program. This project involves identifying, documenting, powering down, and removing legacy network equipment in central offices and data center environments. Technicians must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while maintaining a professional relationship with customer personnel.
Must haveCentral Office Experience.
Responsibilities- Follow established procedures and proprietary software workflows to decommission telecommunications equipment.
- Verify equipment status and perform power measurements using basic test equipment.
- Record data accurately and document completed work.
- Identify fuse panels and safely power down designated equipment.
- Remove, label, and organize cabling according to customer standards.
- Perform basic fiber verification to ensure active services are not impacted.
- Navigate central offices and telecommunications facilities efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and project leadership.
- Travel regionally to support multiple sites as required.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to all safety and customer protocols.
- Experience in telecommunications, low-voltage, structured cabling, fiber optics, data centers, central offices, or related technical environments.
- Basic understanding of fiber optic systems and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Ability to read equipment lists and follow written procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in equipment rooms and central office environments.
- Experience with fiber testing equipment, power meters, or VFLs.
- Central office, ISP, OSP, or data center experience.
- Previous telecom installation, maintenance, or decommissioning experience.
- Military communications or electronics background.
- OSHA certification.
- Familiarity with cable labeling and documentation standards.
- Professional and respectful.

- Detail-oriented.
- Strong communicators.
- Adaptable and willing to travel.
- Able to follow processes precisely.
- Comfortable working in customer environments.
