Responsibilities
We’re looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Technician to join our team at Fifteen Fifty in San Francisco and help keep our building in top shape. In this role, you’ll handle repairs, prepare apartments for new residents, and support our team with everything from HVAC fixes to setting up special projects. WhatYou’ll Do
- Complete work orders and handle day‑to‑day repairs in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliances.
- Keep building systems clean, code‑compliant, and well maintained.
- Get apartments ready for move‑ins and move‑outs, including repairs, touch‑ups, lock changes, and inspections.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and safety checks, track recurring issues, and ensure all systems run safely and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory, tools, and storage spaces.
- Clean and inspect shared spaces like gyms, rooftops, pools, and basements.
- Respond quickly and professionally to service requests.
- Cover for the Resident Manager when needed and assist with walkthroughs.
- Mentor junior maintenance team members and help create a strong team environment.
- Support renovations, new tool testing, and energy‑saving projects.
- Help install and maintain new technology such as leak sensors or smart thermostats.
- Represent the building with a clean, professional appearance and communicate clearly with residents.
- Provide in‑unit orientations and support a high standard of service.
- $27 – $29 per hour.
- Annual bonus tied to performance.
- Friday – Tuesday 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
- Days off:
Wednesday – Thursday.
- 2+ years of experience in general maintenance.
- Luxury high‑rise housing experience preferred.
- HVAC repairs, cleans, replaces, etc. (EPA Certification preferred).
- Plumbing repairs, replacement parts, installation.
- Carpentry repairs and installs of doors, shelves, countertops, locks, etc.
- Painting: drywall/plaster repairs, painting.
- Electrical/Appliance: lighting, wiring, power circuits, replacing switches, etc.
- Mechanically inclined.
- General knowledge of using a computer and computer systems.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8 hours.
