As an Electrical Inspector, you will provide field inspection and quality oversight for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring electrical installations are completed safely and in compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes, and project specifications.

Role Overview

We require the services of an Electrical Inspector to inspect new and upgraded water and wastewater conveyance and facility electrical equipment. Duties include verifying code compliance of wiring for pumps, valves, sensors, generators, panel boards, and miscellaneous other electrical equipment associated with small water treatment facilities. The Electrical Inspector will identify environmental hazards, inspect existing structures requiring upgrades and repairs, and liaise with stakeholders regarding remedial action.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the electrical work installation.
  • Maintain daily diaries to document site conditions.
  • Communicate with the RE, Project Manager, Principal Assistant Resident Engineer, field personnel, public outreach personnel, client staff, and the construction administration staff.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant electrical inspection and management experience on public works projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving history.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk construction site, including climbing ladders, walking on scaffolding, and moving on temporary structures.
Ideally You Will Have
  • Knowledge of water related equipment installation such as flow elements, motor installation, and actuated valves.
  • Knowledge of generator installation, panel boards, duct banks, wiring diagrams, electrical code, plan reading, and testing.

Compensation

Base salary range $55.00 to $95.00 per hour. Pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

On‑site Requirements

Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full‑time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
