Master Technician (Tech

A) | Waymo Fleet Support

We're hiring experienced Master Technicians to support the growing Waymo Autonomous Vehicle Fleet in San Francisco. If you're the technician everyone turns to when warning lights won't go away, electrical issues don't make sense, or an EV needs advanced diagnostics, this is the opportunity for you. You'll work on cutting-edge autonomous, electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles in a modern service facility while helping build a brand-new operation from the ground up.

This is a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity offering excellent pay, weekly paychecks, bonuses, benefits, and real career growth.

Available Shifts

Day Shift

  • Monday-Friday
  • 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Swing Shift

  • Monday-Friday
  • 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Graveyard Shift

  • Wednesday-Sunday
  • 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
What You'll Be Doing
  • Diagnose and repair electric, hybrid, and conventional vehicles
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on high-voltage EV systems
  • Use diagnostic tools, scan equipment, wiring diagrams, and technical resources to identify and resolve issues
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining OEM-quality standards
  • Perform inspections and identify additional maintenance or safety concerns
  • Work closely with parts and shop leadership to ensure repairs are completed correctly
  • Document repairs and recommendations accurately
  • Road test vehicles when necessary
  • Stay current on manufacturer updates, recalls, and technical bulletins
  • Mentor and train junior technicians on diagnostics, repairs, and shop best practices
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Technician or Mechanic
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working on Electric Vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with electrical systems, wiring, and high-voltage components
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics
  • Experience using scan tools and advanced diagnostic equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex vehicle issues
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASE Certifications
  • EV Certification (ASE or OEM)
  • Master Technician or Lead Technician experience
  • Experience training or mentoring other technicians
  • Experience in a fast-paced dealership, fleet, or service environment
