Job Description & How to Apply Below

Our mission at the company is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their the company Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

the company is at a pivotal inflection point. As we continue to scale from a hardware-centric startup to a global leader in personalized health and wellness data, our physical and digital infrastructure must evolve to match our ambitions. We are building a scalable, data-driven operating system for how products move through manufacturing, fulfillment, service, and returns. The Director, Logistics Automation will define and lead the strategy that turns logistics from a collection of manual handoffs into an intelligent, connected, and increasingly autonomous capability that supports millions of members worldwide.

This growth requires a fundamental shift in how we handle material flow and data integrity. As we expand into new retail channels, international markets, and complex service models (including subscription-based logistics and circular economy initiatives), the traditional manual warehouse model is no longer sufficient. We need a leader who can architect a future where every ring, charger, and package is tracked by high-fidelity digital twins and moved by precision-engineered automation.

You will partner closely with the Director of Logistics to prioritize operational opportunities; with Business Technology Services and Data & Analytics to deliver reliable digital platforms; and with Manufacturing and contract manufacturers to deploy physical automation at the right points in the flow. The right leader can move from executive strategy to systems architecture, equipment reviews, supplier negotiations, and on-site deployment.

Key Responsibilities Digital automation and connected systems
  • Lead the definition of the target digital architecture for logistics, overseeing the seamless integration of ERP, WMS, TMS, and 3PL carrier platforms through robust APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop real-time observability dashboards that provide granular visibility into every stage of the fulfillment lifecycle, enabling proactive exception management rather than reactive troubleshooting.
  • Partner with Business Technology Services and Data & Analytics to build reliable integrations and a trusted data foundation for order, inventory, shipment, returns, and fulfillment decisions.
  • Replace manual reconciliation, spreadsheet-based handoffs, and duplicate data entry with robust, auditable, exception-driven workflows.
  • Establish data ownership, master-data requirements, observability, controls, and service-level expectations for logistics automation products.
  • Apply analytics, optimization, AI, and machine learning where they improve decision quality and reduce manual intervention without compromising control or explainability.
  • Design for operational continuity, security, auditability, graceful exception handling, and scalable support.
Physical automation and site deployment
  • Design and oversee the physical deployment of advanced automation systems including high-speed sortation, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), and robotic kitting cells.
  • Direct the implementation of machine vision systems for quality control and serial number capture to eliminate manual scanning bottlenecks at Tier-1 manufacturing and 3PL sites.
  • Evaluate and deploy the right mix of conveyors, sortation, scanning, labeling, machine vision, robotics, autonomous mobile systems, work-cell automation, and ergonomic material-handling solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into equipment specifications, process flows, controls requirements, safety expectations, commissioning plans, and maintenance standards.
  • Partner with site leaders and 3PLs to qualify, install, ramp, and sustain automation while protecting service levels and flexibility.
  • Use simulation, digital-twin concepts, capacity models, and process analysis to test throughput, staffing, bottlenecks, and ROI before committing capital.
Product, manufacturing, and partner integration
  • Drive "Design for Automation" initiatives across the product engineering team, influencing primary and secondary packaging dimensions to optimize robotic handling and pallet density.
  • Integrate manufacturing execution systems (MES) with downstream logistics platforms to create a unified data thread from factory floor to customer doorstep.
  • Define readiness criteria and deployment gates through EVT, DVT, PVT, launch, and sustaining operations.
