Location

65 Laguna Street, San Francisco, CA 94102 (Hayes Valley neighborhood)

Schedule and Work Arrangement

Combo:
Remote 1x week / On-site 4x week. 40 hrs/week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.;
Wednesday 12 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.;
Last Sunday of each month 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Occasional work on additional weekends and evenings may be required.

Position Summary

The TGNCI Programs Specialist provides programmatic oversight and ongoing support, outreach and recruitment, and accessibility to social services for TGNCI older adults age 55+ and adults with disabilities. The role includes weekend and evening scheduling and other duties as necessary.

Essential Functions (Time Allocation)
  • Client Assessment & Care Planning – 50%
  • Community Member Outreach, Engagement, and Supportive Referrals – 25%
  • Community Outreach and Partnership Support – 10%
  • Administrative Documentation, Data Entry, and Program Evaluation – 15%
  • Team Collaboration, Planning, and Other Duties – 10%
Duties
  • Program Support, Facilitation, and Event Logistics – Coordinate and co‑facilitate TGI‑specific groups, community‑building programs, outings, celebration events, advisory board activities, and weekly/monthly program logistics. Support culturally responsive programming, partner collaboration, and event setup and breakdown.
  • Community Member Outreach, Engagement, and Supportive Referrals – Conduct wellness calls, engage TGNCI older adults, provide short‑term support, make warm handoffs to internal and external services, and advocate for community members.
  • Community Outreach and Partnership Support – Promote Openhouse TGI programs across community organizations, fairs, and service providers; develop relationships with external partners and referral networks; provide education and assistance to partners.
  • Administrative Documentation, Data Entry, and Program Evaluation – Complete participant registration, enter data into Neon One/Get Care, assist with surveys and evaluations, track program participation, and support reporting needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working with older LGBTQIA++ adults or equivalent populations with unique service needs.
  • Knowledge of the life experiences, challenges, and strengths of supported communities.
  • Experience facilitating groups with older adults and/or TGI populations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time‑management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn software programs and online databases.
  • Good critical thinking and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency (intermediate) in Spanish and fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with de‑escalation techniques and conflict‑resolution strategies.
  • Community development/organizing skills.
  • Experience working with Transgender, Gender non‑conforming and Intersex older adults and adults with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of San Francisco’s aging and disability resources.
  • Knowledge of client assessment, documentation, and databases.
Background, Licensure & Screening Requirements
  • Criminal history background check (at onboarding).
  • Background checks are conducted in compliance with San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, California Fair Chance Act, and applicable federal, state, and local law.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Full COVID vaccination required (or approved accommodation).
  • Ability to travel locally to meet clients off‑site.
  • Ability to assist clients entering and exiting a vehicle within safe practice limits.
Compensation & Benefits

Starting pay range: $28.00–$31.00 per hour (Pay band: $23.80–$34.00/hr), commensurate with experience.
