Supervising Social Worker

Starting Salary Range: $75,518 – $90,621

Location:

San Francisco office. This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing work with clients in their homes, in the office, or from home. Reliable transportation is required for client visits.

We are seeking a Supervising Social Worker for our Early Start Assessment department to provide supervision of assigned Social Workers, administer related functions, and oversee Early Start and Lanterman eligibility assessment processes.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise assigned staff, providing leadership and ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and evaluation of staff in collaboration with the Manager of Intake and Assessment.
  • Represent the administration on internal and community committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Help develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Review and approve required documentation for compliance with established standards.
  • Serve as administrative and supervisory backup to the Assessment Manager.
  • Supervise or manage social workers involved with Early Start and Lanterman eligibility assessment and overall case planning.
  • Ensure documentation meets timelines, standards, and procedures.
  • Serve as back‑up for Assessment Social Workers within the department as needed.
  • Participate in audit review, preparation, and oversight of Early Start cases.
  • Participate in special projects and assist with additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and the California Lanterman Act.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related human services field.
  • Valid Clinical License at time of hire; ability to maintain license in good standing preferred.
  • 4+ years post‑Master’s work with increasing responsibility.
  • 2+ years Regional Center Experience.
Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agency policy and procedures.
  • Training and facilitation skills.
  • Probing and interview techniques to ensure person‑centered planning.
  • Knowledge of counseling principles, objectives, and techniques for individuals.
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal individual and group behavior, human growth, and development of family relationships.
  • Knowledge of community structure and organization and how to intervene constructively on clients’ behalf.
  • Ability to maintain case records clearly and concisely.
  • Written communication: develop standard business communications using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Oral communication: convey complex information in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Operating basic office equipment.
  • Basic familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook or similar software applications.
