Position: Bilingual Social Worker - ASL Required

Bilingual Social Worker - ASL Required

Starting Salary:
Bachelor's Degree $59,826 - $71,791;
Master's Degree $65,929 - $79,114.

Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals with developmental disabilities over 3 years old and families to advocate for and secure services.
  • Participate in assessment, develop, implement, and coordinate Individual Program Plans, and complete required documentation.
  • Manage a wide range of active cases requiring professional social work skills, including creative planning and acquiring services.
  • Participate in ongoing social assessments, collect data for the interdisciplinary team, design, monitor, and revise program plans.
  • Initiate and terminate regional center funding and ensure purchased services are delivered.
  • Prepare required reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner; maintain records in compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Advocate for individuals and families to assure receipt of entitled services, encourage participation, and review available resources.
  • Initiate referrals, monitor progress of vendored services, evaluate effectiveness, and identify service gaps.
  • Provide outreach services as assigned; participate in internal and community committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of social welfare or related human services field;
    Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Fluency in ASL with thorough knowledge of technical terminology and ability to speak and understand ASL as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of counseling principles, child development behavior, human growth, and family relationships.
  • Case management experience strongly desired.
  • Reliable transportation for regular visits to programs without advanced notice.
  • Independent work skills, sound judgment, teamwork capability, excellent communication, and ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
