- Design, coordinate, and implement an overall specialized system of supported living options as well as the development of an evaluation process for follow-up and ongoing monitoring of programs
- Acts as liaison to local providers of supported living services, and serves as communication link between the Agency and the providers.
- Acts as liaison to the Department of Developmental Services for issues regarding supported living services.

- Analyze and apply existing and proposed statutes and regulations,
- Draft revisions to Agency policies and guidelines and works with DDS to implement revised policies
- Participate in the RFP for potential new housing providers
- Implements internal and external communications strategies that promote and educate employees and the community regarding supported living services initiatives.
- Facilitate communications at all levels to solve problems and participate in planning of proactive solutions
- Coordinates supported living services for people supported with various community partners. DOESN'T THE SOCIAL WORKERS REALLY DO THIS?
- Sets priorities, organizes workload, manages relevant contracts with community partners, and meets agreed upon deadlines.
- Shares related information and articles to staff and stakeholders as appropriate
- Draft written comments on proposed regulations
- Advise others on trends occurring within SLS
- Develops new housing resources
- Negotiate rates
- Recruit, screen, evaluate and contract with vendors
- Establish start-up budgeting and billing procedures
- Presents periodic updates to Board of Directors and Senior Management on housing initiatives.
- Attends Board, Service Providers and providers and meetings with Individuals Supported as needed.
- Coordinates with case management and administration staff regarding authorization of supported living services and service changes.
- Provides training to new employees and consults with staff regarding housing options.
- Contributes to Individual Service Plans for people supported who currently participates in housing services
- Responds to questions related to SLS regulations and interpretation of the regulations
- Prepares and sends required reports related to Supported Living Services within the Agency's community
- May act as a witness in appeals
- Conducts New Hire and other training relevant to function to staff and community.
- Provides updates on related Performance Contract Measures as requested.
- Implements internal and external communications strategies that promote and educate employees and the community regarding supported living services initiatives.
- Facilitate communications at all levels to solve problems and participate in planning of proactive solutions
- Serve as liaison to community organization including local government housing departments, non-profit housing development corporations, families/consumer groups interested in residential development
- Presents supported living services information to people supported, families, service providers and other stakeholders.
- Participate in special projects, and assist with additional duties or tasks, as assigned
- Maintain all client information as confidential in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act
- Master's degree in Social Work or related human services field
- 2+ years in social services
- Experience in interpretation of policies, procedures, legislation and regulations pertaining to particular programs, including Regional Center Systems and Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act desired
- Budget creation and management, preferably as it pertains to Title XVII
- Negotiation
- Working with families from diverse cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Public speaking, presentation, coaching and written communication.
- Applying existing laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Managing high level, multi-year organizational change.
- Policy development and project management.
- Apply independent judgment in critical situations.
- Prioritize work and meet deadlines.

- Problem identification and analysis
- Regional center experience and/or knowledge of program development, consultation and workshop coordination
- Experience in multi-cultural settings and/or multi-lingual capacity
Demonstrates expertise in supported living services, policy development, and program management, with a strong focus on communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders. Proficient in budget management, negotiation, and compliance with relevant regulations.
