The Instructor Floateris  responsible for providing quality instruction and supervision foradults with intellectual disabilities,challengingbehaviorsand/or dual diagnosis.

The Instructor Floater will work with multiple teams tofacilitaterest breaks, meal periods and other direct service as assigned.

The position ofInstructor

Floaterisresponsible for implementing the Company’s positive behavioral program,complying withthe Agency’s policies and procedures, anddemonstratingappropriate compliance to Employee Rules of Conduct.

• Provide group coverage for rest breaks, meal periods and other direct service as assigned.
• Provide direct individual and groupinstructionto assignedparticipantsin accordance withparticipant’sabilities, goals, agency traininglevelsand agency goals.
• Provideconstantappropriate supervisionofparticipants, implement age appropriate training activities, and applyagency training methods to ensure structure toworkingenvironment.
• Maintain an environment that promotes non-aversive behavior programming, usingpositive interactions withparticipantson a daily basis, responding to crisis using good judgment,andinitiatingapproved crisis techniques.
• Collectpertinent data in anerror freemanner.
• Thoroughly and accuratelycompletesprogram paperwork.
• Utilizeindividualized assessments.
• Initiatecommunication and work habits thatfacilitateteamwork with co-workers.
• Demonstratepositive and professional communication with other agencies and businesses.
• Maintaina clean,organized and safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Communicatepertinent information for the purpose of developing individualized assessments,objectives and plans thatare in agreement with program andparticipantidentifiedgoals.
• Initiatetimelycommunication with others, both co-workers and external professionals,regardingparticipantservices and pertinent program issues.
• Supervise and thoroughly documentappropriateparticipantoutings and activities.
• Assess andensurethe physical needs of theparticipantare met; communicatepotential health problems to any supervisor in a timely manner; and initiate approved First-Aid techniques during medical crisis.

• Clear andtimely communication with others.
• Follow written and verbal directions.
• Presentinformation effectively,accurately and thoroughly in a style others can understand and act upon.
• Listento others’ information, ask questions that clarify the intended message, and respondto questions frommanager,participants, and outside organizations.

• Calculation of figures and amounts including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to apply basic math concepts.
