Counselor 1 (T) Job Requisition Number of Openings: 0 Shift: Day (United States of America) Compensation Details: $55,000.00 - $57,750.00
PLEASE NOTE:
WE ARE SEEKING TO FILL 1 POSITION
Under direct supervision, provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities to facilitate competitive and integrated employment outcomes.
Essential Functions- Develops and maintains referral sources.
- Conducts interviews with VR participants (potentially eligible students, applicants, and clients).
- Reviews and interprets education, vocation, psychological and medical information.
- Travels within caseload assignment area to meet with individuals, providers, partners and other outreach.
- Assists in determining eligibility, identifying order of selection, conducting a comprehensive needs assessment, and developing an individualized plan for employment, authorizing services.
- Counsels and guides participants throughout the rehabilitation process, including establishing employment goals, facilitating job search efforts, maintaining contact with clients, and moving the case to closure.
- Monitors client movement and ensures timely provision of services.
- Documents accurately and timely in AWARE (client information system).
- Observes rules of confidentiality as stated by departmental guidelines in the dissemination and interpretation of test results and other case file information.
- Provides information to educate the public, other agencies, vendors, and potential customers about rehabilitation services.
- Enters accurate participant data in the client information system at the direction of the counselor, as well as captures reporting data.
- Processes and monitors authorizations and invoices for rehabilitation services in accordance with policies and procedures

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social/Human Services, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related behavioral or
-social science field from an accredited college or university and Two years related experience.
Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree in a related field (Psychology, Social Services, Education, Special Education, Counseling, etc.)
- Teachers’ Certification in Special Education
- Experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation, Case Management, and Counseling
Supervisory Responsibility:
None required for this position.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
