As a Quality Engineer for the Field Service team at Salesforce you will lead the design, development and execution of comprehensive test plans/quality strategies with emphasis on automation. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, actively contributing to the quality of new features while ensuring successful execution of regression tests in various environments. You will work in a fast-paced environment and understand complex backend AI flow systems/dependencies, identifying potential risks, and strategically plan and execute comprehensive testing efforts to ensure the stability, reliability and quality of the feature and release.

• Build a confirmed automation foundation that guides engineering teams to build, execute, and be responsible for various types of tests across the testing pyramid. Design and deliver automation and automation framework for products with a quality approach and provide mentorship through code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers within their scrum team.
• Master the Salesforce development process and codebase to drive improvements.
• Participate in a Test Design Review Board for integration test plans within and across clouds with focus on functional, business, scenarios, high impact projects, usability, and accessibility.
• Master cloud requirements (e.g., underlying tech stack, business usage, implementation).
• Build end-to-end, cross cloud-impacting integration automation (API and UI) with varied organizations.
• Execute testing with sophisticated org setup and complex data shapes.
• Prioritize and drive cross-product testing.
• Advocate for customer improvements.
• Monitor product and feature-level quality health metrics (testability, test health, test coverage, etc.).
• Collaborate with senior developers, PM, and UX to ensure features meet business and quality requirements.
• Tackle production issues.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to others on scrum teams and across teams as needed.
• Collaborate with app developers to analyze complex challenges related to Android or iOS native applications.

• 10+ years of experience in software development engineering in test or quality engineering.
• Proficiency in Java programming with hands-on experience in testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
• Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Fluent with automation technologies such as JUnit, Jest, Selenium and Jenkins.
• Experience with developer tools like Git, Maven and Eclipse IDE.
• Solid understanding of REST principles.
• Proficient in writing functional automation (UI/API).
• Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills with ability to convey technical information clearly.
• A related technical degree is required.

• Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing.
• Hands-on experience with mobile testing frameworks and tools such as Appium, Espresso, UiAutomator, Compose UI Test, etc.

This role will involve a significant onsite presence in our San Francisco office, particularly during intensive regression testing phases and when hardware interaction is critical. We believe in the collaborative benefits of in-person work for complex hardware-dependent testing.
