Amazon Devices is looking for a results-oriented and passionate Sr. Software Engineer who wants to help transform the way people shop for Amazon devices and digital subscriptions: whether it s online or offline; on desktop, tablet, or mobile; or using the power of your voice. We are at the crossroads of using machine learning, modern JavaScript frameworks, and stateless microservices architecture to build a never seen experience for Devices.

Who You Are:
As a Sr. Software Engineer for the Amazon Devices business, you ll own and drive long-term technical vision and initiatives while designing and building scalable products that enhance the customer journey from search to checkout. You ll solve complex technical challenges and create innovative solutions that directly impact millions of customers. This is a highly visible role where you ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and principal engineers across multiple teams, while leading and mentoring developers to deliver new products, features, and services.

We have numerous exciting opportunities on our roadmap ready for your expertise. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in distributed systems and object-oriented design, proven experience building high-scale web applications, and excellence in system design and code reviews. We seek someone with a customer-obsessed mindset who can thrive in ambiguous environments, demonstrate strong mentorship skills, and has a proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions at scale.

Basic

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 7+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or equivalent
