Principal Software Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll join small, high-trust product teams where engineers own outcomes, not just tickets.

Depending on the company, you may:

• Design and build core product features end-to-end
• Architect scalable backend services and APIs
• Build high-quality frontend experiences (React / modern JS frameworks)
• Ship production-grade ML / AI features or data-driven systems
• Improve performance, reliability, and developer experience
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Leadership on roadmap and trade-offs
• Influence technical direction and raise the engineering bar

This is hands-on building. No ivory-tower roles. No endless meetings.

Who This Is For

You’re likely a strong fit if you:

• Have 5–12+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Have shipped and owned production systems used by real users
• Are comfortable working across the stack or deeply in one domain (backend, frontend, infra, ML)
• Think in terms of products and outcomes, not just implementations
• Can work independently, make good decisions, and unblock yourself
• Care about code quality, system design, and performance
• Enjoy ambiguous problems and turning them into shipped solutions

Typical Backgrounds

We regularly place engineers coming from:

• High-growth startups or scale-ups
• Big Tech / top-tier product companies
• Applied ML / AI product teams
• Marketplace, SaaS, fintech, infra, or data-heavy platforms

Titles may include:

Titles matter less than capability.

Varies by company, but commonly:

• React / Next.js
• ML frameworks (PyTorch, Tensor Flow), LLMs, RAG, MLOps

You don’t need everything. You need depth somewhere and the ability to learn fast.
