• Proactively identify and lead improvements to the employer’s infrastructure, maximizing business and engineering impact
• Address systems-level challenges focusing on scalability, efficiency, reliability, and security
• Build clean, reusable, and maintainable abstractions for the employer’s engineers
• Take full ownership of components within the infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance
• Collaborate across teams and product areas to drive impactful infrastructure solutions

• Minimum of 8 years of industry experience in relevant fields
• Strong background in databases, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and data infrastructure
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Passion for refactoring and building clean abstractions to simplify complex systems
• Willingness to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City if not already based there

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure management
• Familiarity with data processing technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, and Apache Flink
• Previous work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex systems
• Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
