Aboutthe Role
We are looking for a Staff Engineer passionate about React Native development to help build an ecosystem of end‑to‑end tools for photographers. The role involves collaborating with talented individuals, enhancing existing products, creating new tools, and driving the vision across mobile, desktop, and web technologies for a global creative community.
The Day to Day- Lead the development of high‑quality, scalable React Native applications, enforcing rigorous testing, CI practices, and high code standards.
- Own forward‑thinking architectural decisions, align technical choices with company goals, and choose the pragmatic path when business demands it.
- Mentor engineers through complex bugs, design decisions, and trade‑offs, coaching growth and elevating skill levels.
- Drive code quality via pull‑request reviews, encouraging completion and constructive feedback.
- Champion AI‑assisted development, actively mentoring the team on usage and recognizing its impact on velocity and quality.
- Collaborate across Product, Design, and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear language for non‑technical audiences.
- Show flexibility by stepping outside the defined role when needed, engaging across the stack and cross‑platform efforts.
- 7+ years of professional software development, with at least 4 years focused on mobile development using React Native.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, Type Script, and modern front‑end technologies including Expo.
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, Graph
QL, and third‑party services. - Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux) and asynchronous programming.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining complex, high‑performance mobile applications.
- Strong knowledge of mobile design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience owning projects end‑to‑end from prototype to customer roll‑out.
- Cross‑functional collaboration experience with designers and product managers.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and raising team‑wide code quality.
- Experience with feature flagging, release management, and observability tools (Datadog, Crashlytics, etc.).
- Comfort with AI‑assisted development workflows and a desire to push the boundaries.

The base salary for this position ranges from $230,000 to $260,000, based on experience, location, and internal leveling. The role also qualifies for equity (stock options) and discretionary bonuses based on performance. Total compensation includes a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long‑term disability insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid sick time, and the standard employee benefits package.
