Senior Firmware Engineer

What You'll Do:

• Drive the design, development, and operation of several key embedded software capabilities on the Lime vehicles and related products, including new yet-to-be-released products.
• Own unique embedded software functions through design, implementation (in RUST, C, C++, etc.), testing, and integration in an embedded Linux or real‑time operating system (RTOS) environment.
• Learn and master multiple components including networking (LTE)/WiFi, motor control, Over the Air (OTA) software update, and a variety of sensors.
• Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, etc.
• Participate in the architecture of these complex systems and collaborate with other team members across the globe to realize the team's goals.
• Provide feedback in the peer review process and effectively communicate with technical leadership.
• Work closely with hardware teams to support board design, bring‑up, and verification, and integration and testing during various phases of product development, including proof of concept.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 4+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment, including direct, hands‑on experience designing, developing, and debugging consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive systems, avionics, industrial, or telecommunications products.
• This is a hybrid position. You must be based in the SF Bay Area and be expected to visit the San Francisco warehouse and HQ office 2+ times a week.

• Direct experience working on embedded software stack for technologies such as NFC, Bluetooth Classic (BTC), or Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
• Design and development of hardware abstraction layer (HAL) libraries and system services on Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

The anticipated salary range for this position is $156,000 - $215,000. Annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered.
