Current Opening – Senior Software Engineer
The Senior Software Engineer is a member of one of Dayspring’s engineering teams and reports to the team’s Engineering Team Lead. The Senior Software Engineer is a contributor, helping develop applications to deliver high quality solutions for Dayspring’s professional services clients. This is a full-time position based in our San Francisco office with at least 3 days a week in office (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday), and optionally 2 days a week (Monday and Thursday) remote.
What’sthe role?
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll implement software solutions for Dayspring’s clients based on requirements and specifications provided by a Staff Software Engineer or Engineering Team Lead. You may also lead another engineer or two to deliver specific work products.
As a technical collaborator, you’ll assist an Engineering Team Lead or Principal Consultant in defining and estimating discrete portions of client solutions. You’ll enable your team to nurture long‑term client relationships through maintenance engagements and by supporting and debugging existing code.
You’re someone who sees software engineering as a craft through which you build applications to help and serve your clients. You take in the big picture, but also appreciate details and work to get them implemented correctly. As an experienced member of the team, you’ll proactively seek guidance from the team’s Mentor Engineer as you continue to grow in your craft and expand your ability to serve Dayspring’s clients with excellence.
The team works together so everyone can work a smart 40‑hour workweek and unplug for time off.
As a craftsperson, you make good use of the software engineering tools at your disposal, and use them to work with your team to understand, refine, and fulfil the client’s vision.
As a strong candidate, you can expect a salary of $116,000 – $130,000 annually based on experience and qualifications; plus health insurance, paid time off, and other benefits.
What’s needed for the role?- 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
- Experience working with medium to large code bases with dependence on frameworks.
- Experience evaluating development tools and frameworks.
- Familiarity with frontend, backend/application, and database technologies.
- Proficiency in at least one of the above.
- An ethic of service. You see a job as a way to serve people.
- A communication style (written and verbal) that is polished and proactive. You’re able to convey both technical and functional details and processes in a simple and clear manner.
- Appreciation of what’s uniquely possible with in‑person work.

- Excellent client service skills. You’re empathetic, accurate, compassionate, responsive, resourceful, and conscientious.
- Experience evaluating development tools and frameworks.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with Typescript/Angular, PHP, and/or MySQL/Postgre
SQL. - Experience with Dev Ops and managing deployments.
- Experience with AWS.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related major.
- Project management experience that includes a track record of successful implementations and a focus on building repeatable processes.
- Expert‑level knowledge in frontend development with Angular.
