Software Engineer (Full Stack), San Francisco Hybrid

FT Partners is looking for a skilled Software Engineer who is knowledgeable in building high quality impactful applications and well versed in AI development methodologies. We are looking for people who can produce stable features without racking up technical debts, and can help organize, consolidate, and strengthen our suite of software for sustained impact.

The software to which you will contribute is FT Base, an internal project management and data application suite, built in Python, Django (DRF), Typescript, React, Postgre

SQL. FT Partners runs all its operations on FT Base, and while its userbase is limited to company employees, it’s a mission critical application with usage around the globe. It also powers an MCP server to provide data and interactivity to employees through enterprise AI tooling.

• Experience requirements, either:
  • 5 years as a Software Engineer in a web application environment OR
  • 2 years as a Software Engineer and reputable boot camp certification OR
  • Engineering degree (4 year) and some projects or work experience to show
• Python, Typescript, APIs, Git and web application system design concepts

• Strong A.I. prompt-driven development abilities, backed by technical understanding
• You don’t need to know how to have hand‑coded everything you produce, but you need to be able to explain and verify any ai‑produced code you submit.
• Experience overcoming the obstacles that lie beyond the prototype, and instinct toward cohesive organized systems that scale

• Immerse yourself in the context and business requirements of each of our system’s many functional areas
• Execute on instructions to build new things, or improve, refactor, clean up or delete features
• Make recommendations on progressing projects you are close to, sometimes in growth, sometimes in simplification, sometimes in aligning with other areas of the system
• Help review applications prototyped outside of the engineering department, and help steer, rebuild, or secure these

• Responsible and organized. We are not looking for someone to break ground and hand off their problems, we are looking for someone to help funnel ideas into sustainable compatible features
• Systems minded
• Flexible to business pressures and constraints.
• Collaborative and team‑oriented, understanding the importance of shared success and learning
• Open to asking questions, sharing ideas, helping teammates
• Eager to adopt new standards and improve upon previous solutions
• Cautious of adding unnecessary complexity. And cognizant of maintenance burdens that may be introduced by flashy features. We want the features. But let’s make them robust and compatible
