Engineering Manager

Hiring:
Engineering Manager (Hands‑on) – San Francisco – AI Infrastructure Startup

We’re partnering with our client, a fast‑growing AI infrastructure company building frontier datasets and experimentation platforms powering the next generation of LLMs and AI Agents.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead a team of 5–10 engineers while remaining deeply involved in architecture and coding (50% IC / 50% management).

Location:

San Francisco (5 days onsite)

Compensation: $300K–$400K base + significant equity ($500K–$1.5M over 4 years)

• Work directly with the CTO on critical infrastructure initiatives
• Build core platform infrastructure used across the company
• Lead hiring, mentorship, and performance management for a high‑caliber engineering team
• Operate in a fast‑moving, high‑ownership environment alongside talent from Citadel, Google, Meta, Jane Street, Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, and more
• Help scale infrastructure powering frontier AI workflows and leading AI labs

• 6–10 years of engineering experience
• Full‑stack capabilities with hands‑on coding experience
• Previous senior/staff‑level engineering experience with interest in management
• Thrives in ambiguous, fast‑scaling startup environments
