Software Engineer, DevOps
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you're the reason our customers go from "this is cool" to "we can't operate without this."
You'll work closely with our customers and ship the code that unlocks immense value for them. You're not a consultant. You're an engineer who gets on a plane, or zoom, or both at the same time, sits next to a customer, figures out exactly where the friction is, and ships the solution that eliminates it.
What you'll do- Own customer implementations end-to-end - Discovery, integration, deployment, optimization. Your name is on it.
- Write production code on real deadlines.
- Turn messy workflows into first-principle-driven automations.
- Be the technical face of Eventual to our customers. They must leave every meeting with you thinking, "how are these people this good?"
- 3+ years shipping production-grade software. Strong in Python or Type Script (ideally both).
- Comfortable with customers. You can run a discovery call, read the room in a CFO's office, and explain a thorny technical tradeoff without losing anyone.
- High agency. Ambiguity is where you do your best work.
- You've worked as an FDE, a founder / early engineer who owned customer outcomes directly.
- You like insurance, or you're willing to get obsessed with it. It's the original trillion-dollar back office, and it's finally ready to be rebuilt.
- Experience with insurance tech, and financial automation.
- You've built integrations against legacy products and lived to tell the tale.
- You've shipped AI-powered workflows in production - not just prompts.
Insurance is a critical part of global economy that stands to reap immense benefit using modern technology. Eventual is the platform doing it. Eventual is where the highest-leverage work happens — more ownership, more customer contact, and more shipped impact in six months here than most engineers get in three years.
Modern insurance runs on Eventual. Come build it.
