AboutThe Role
As a Software Backend Engineer on our Memberships Team, you will help shape the future of our Service Monetization Platform. You will architect, build and optimize our membership platform that powers revenue collection for Crunchyroll. Working with design, product, quality and data teams, you will solve complex challenges, optimize performance, and enhance user experience, directly contributing to the growth of the Crunchyroll fanbase.

- You are an experienced and passionate Software Backend Engineer with at least 5 years of experience building robust and reliable backend services.
- You have experience with Typescript or Node.js, Java, Go, or PHP.
- You have experience with cloud technologies such as ECS, Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and Event Bridge.
- You have experience with databases such as Postgres, Maria
DB, Dynamo
DB, or Mongo
DB. - You have experience in operational excellence, including on‑call rotations and incident management.
- You excel in an Agile and collaborative environment, where your insights and expertise will help create technical solutions loved by our fans.
The Membership team builds and maintains systems that manage subscription and benefit delivery for our customers. We are directly tied to a primary revenue stream and pride ourselves on quality code, service reliability and teamwork. Day‑to‑day work includes executing payment and subscription processing, supporting marketing strategies, improving processes through analytics, and partnering with customer support. $169,000 – $205,000 USD
