Job Description

Seeking an experienced Software Engineering leader in our Core Brokerage group, who will lead the technical aspects of designing, implementing, and testing various initiatives. The role expects significant engineering ownership in complex server‑side applications, including new feature work, improvements on existing code, and active participation in designing and shipping the product. The incumbent will be working in the Middle Office Core Platform Organization to drive product development including requirement gathering and technical solutioning.

• Lead a technical team to design and implement highly reliable, scalable, extensible, maintainable, global, and operable products and platforms.
• Draft and review architectural diagrams, interface specifications, class structures, and other design documents.
• Build systems that balance resources, constraints, requirements, and complexity.
• Present opportunities with cost/benefit analysis to leadership to shape decisions regarding architectural strategy.
• Evangelize technologies, solutions, and best practices developed with the organization.
• Develop department‑wide technical perspectives, standards, solutions, and strategies that resolve significant product or organizational pain points.
• Participate in a network of principal engineers to share ideas, practices, and experiences.
• Work closely with product management and development teams.
• Lead and mentor other back‑end engineers.

• 7–10 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Strong proficiency with Golang or Java/J2EE, Python & C++.
• Expertise in software development domain and principles, including design patterns, data structures, continuous integration and deployment.
• Knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and C/C++.
• Good understanding of web services protocols such as REST, SOAP, gRPC and API design for extensibility and portability.
• Experience writing SQL queries for Sybase, Oracle or another relational database.
• Well versed with OOD and SOA principles.
• Experience working in a UNIX environment and shell scripting (including Perl).
• Working knowledge of cloud, service mesh and containers.
• Team player with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with SCRUM, Agile and iterative approaches.
• Creative thinker, self‑starter, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with C++, Golang, Java, Python, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, REST, SOAP, gRPC, API Design, SQL, Sybase, Oracle, UNIX, Shell Scripting, Perl, Cloud, Service Mesh, Containers, Agile.
