Job SummaryMakani Networks is looking for an experienced build engineer to own build, packaging and configuration of kernel and system utilities for the Makani Optimization line of products. The candidate will create a build infrastructure that is both extensible and flexible, and work closely with the development team to provide support for production builds. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and extending the appliance install/upgrade tools and procedures.
Job Responsibilities- Define and maintain system kickstart tools.
- Design and maintain appliance install and upgrade tools.
- Configure Linux for high performance as a Makani appliance.
- Create and maintain tools for system imaging; these tools will be used internally and by Makani partners to image systems.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with Linux based products.
- Hands‑on experience with PXE boot or other network boot technology.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and debugging boot‑loaders such as GRUB.
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl.
- Experience with embedded Linux appliances.
