I am partnered with a well-funded defense technology startup that is building next-generation autonomous robotic systems for mission-critical applications. They are seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to develop the software that powers advanced autonomous platforms, working across perception, planning, control, and infrastructure.
In this role, you'll help build intelligent systems capable of operating in complex real-world environments, collaborating closely with teams spanning robotics, AI, and hardware. This is an opportunity to work on challenging technical problems at the intersection of autonomy, machine learning, and scalable software systems while contributing to products deployed in real-world scenarios.
Key Responsibilities- Developing software for robotic perception, planning, navigation, and control
- Building autonomy pipelines from sensor input to action
- Integrating sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, and IMUs into robotic systems
- Creating and maintaining simulation, testing, and deployment infrastructure
- Improving system performance, reliability, and real-world robustness
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver production-ready capabilities
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US
- Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or similar languages
- Experience developing robotics, autonomy, or intelligent software systems
- Experience working with robotic hardware, simulation environments, or both
- Strong debugging and systems-level problem-solving abilities
- A passion for solving complex engineering challenges in fast-paced environments
