Senior AI Engineer, Agentic Identity

Angove Partners is partnering with a rapidly scaling venture-backed technology company building the identity layer for modern financial and digital ecosystems.

The business is building a real-time identity infrastructure that unifies large-scale data sources into a single identity graph used to verify organisations and individuals  is also developing a cryptographic identity layer designed for a world where AI agents act on behalf of users, replacing legacy self-asserted identity mechanisms with verifiable, third-party-issued credentials validated in real time at the edge.

We’re looking to connect with Senior Engineers who are passionate about building cryptographic identity systems, distributed infrastructure, and high-performance verification layers at global scale.

• Utilize OAuth Token Exchange and JWS-based credentials to build and maintain issuer/mint systems utilizing
• Design and operate a Merkle-based append-only audit log with real-time revocation capabilities
• Develop and evolve identity wire formats, claim registries, and verification standards including JWT profiles and compliance mappings (eIDAS, NIST IAL, FATF CDD)
• Implement sub-millisecond cryptographic verification at the HTTP edge (including JWS verification and Web Bot Auth RFC 9421) for CDNs, merchants, and publisher systems
• Build and maintain a cloud-resident identity principal system containing canonical identity, KYB/KYC records, operator permissions, and audit history
• Develop embedded KYB onboarding flows within OAuth 2.0 consent journeys, including webhook delivery via event-driven infrastructure
• Work across a Python 3.x monorepo (FastAPI, Cloud Tasks, Cloud Run, SQLModel/SQL Alchemy) and Go-based performance-critical services
• Contribute to building highly secure, low-latency identity infrastructure where correctness, auditability, and performance are first-order requirements
• Collaborate across engineering teams to design and ship production systems that power identity and trust at scale

We’re interested in connecting with Senior Engineers with experience in:

• Minimum of 6+ years experience
• Building identity or authentication systems such as OAuth/OIDC providers, token services, signing services, or HSM-backed systems
• Strong backend engineering experience in Python and/or Go, with ability to work across both
• Deep understanding of identity vs authorization, claims vs mandates, and stateful vs stateless system design
• Experience working directly from RFCs or protocol specifications as primary engineering inputs
• Designing and operating distributed systems with strong focus on correctness, observability, and reliability
• Production experience with async Python systems and PostgreSQL at scale (including migrations and performance optimisation)
• Experience building secure, high-trust infrastructure in production environments
