Senior React Native​/Expo Engineer

The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $230,000 to $280,000, plus equity and additional benefits.

We need a Senior React Native Engineer to own the mobile applications that serve as the primary daily touchpoint for our patients and providers. You will act as the mobile product specialist, designing end‑to‑end solutions from data synchronization to user experience.

Mochi has helped patients lose over 5 million pounds through metabolic care and is expanding into preventative health—hormone optimization, longevity medicine, and peptide therapies. Your work will directly affect how patients track biometrics, communicate securely with care teams, and manage complex medication protocols.

• Architect the Mobile Clinical Experience
  :
  Build high‑performance tools that integrate with Apple Health Kit and Google Health Connect, design secure messaging systems, and deliver responsive user interfaces.
• Leverage the Expo Ecosystem
  :
  Use Expo to provide a flawless cross‑platform experience, manage build pipelines with EAS, configure native modules via Config Plugins, and push over‑the‑air updates.
• Design for the Edge
  :
  Implement offline‑first data synchronization and local caching to support spotty connectivity.
• Champion the Mobile UX
  :
  Own design details such as frame rates, navigation transitions, keyboard handling, and accessibility for diverse patients.
• Build Agentic Workflows
  :
  Integrate AI models directly into mobile interfaces to automate operations and streamline support.
• Raise the Engineering Bar
  :
  Make key architectural decisions, establish code reuse patterns with web clients, and elevate engineer quality through reviews and testing.

• High‑stakes mobile experience
  : 5‑7+ years of frontend engineering, deep focus on React Native and Expo, and a proven track record of shipping data‑heavy apps.
• Expo and infrastructure expert

  Mastery of EAS builds, native module integration, and app store guidelines.
• Mobile state & performance guru

  Optimize render cycles, prevent UI thread blocking, and handle large datasets securely.
• Full‑lifecycle owner

  Manage CI/CD, monitor crash rates (Sentry), and own production reliability.
• AI‑enabled workflows
  :
  Use frontier agentic tools (e.g., Codex, Claude) to accelerate coding while maintaining rigorous technical oversight.
• Collaborative builder

• Site attendance

  Must work in our San Francisco office 5 days a week.
