Senior Software Engineer - Android Systems & Security

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Android Systems & Security to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk‑aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long‑term growth within a technology‑driven environment.

Location:

San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $272,000 – $283,000 annually

• Develop and maintain custom modifications within the Android Framework and Hardware Abstraction Layers
• Partner with smartphone manufacturers and chipset vendors for technology integration
• Collaborate daily with a China‑based engineering team on technical specifications
• Implement system‑level locking features affecting various services like Telephony and Power Management
• Troubleshoot integration issues using chip‑level expertise across silicon providers
• Contribute to OTA updates and global device testing processes

• Extensive, hands‑on experience with AOSP development and the Android build system
• Expert‑level proficiency in Java and C/C++, with a focus on system‑level work
• Proven experience working with OEMs or chipset vendors on firmware and security
• Strong knowledge of AOSP and Trusted Execution Environment (TEE)
