Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're looking for a Simulation Engineer to build and own our robotics simulation infrastructure. You'll use NVIDIA Isaac Sim to create high‑fidelity environments, generate synthetic data, and validate autonomy software before it ever touches real hardware. Your work will directly accelerate our development loop — enabling faster iteration, safer testing, and scalable training of learned policies.
This is a hands‑on role with significant ownership. You'll define our simulation strategy, build the pipelines, and work closely with perception, controls, and ML engineers to make sim a first‑class part of how we ship.
What You'll Do- Design, build, and maintain simulation environments in NVIDIA Isaac Sim, including realistic scenes, terrain, physics, and sensor models
- Develop and integrate accurate robot models (URDF/USD), including kinematics, dynamics, actuators, and sensor suites
- Build synthetic data generation pipelines (Isaac Replicator or similar) for training and evaluating perception and policy models
- Create sim‑based testing and evaluation frameworks: scenario libraries, regression suites, and CI integration for autonomy software
- Support reinforcement learning and imitation learning workflows using Isaac Lab (or equivalent), including domain randomization and sim‑to‑real transfer
- Bridge simulation with the robotics stack via ROS 2, ensuring parity between simulated and real interfaces
- Profile and optimize simulation performance for large‑scale or parallelized runs on GPU clusters
- Collaborate with hardware and autonomy teams to keep simulation assets and behavior faithful to the real system
- 3+ years of experience in robotics simulation, autonomy, or a closely related field
- Hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim (Omniverse), including USD workflows, PhysX, and Python scripting of the sim
- Strong Python skills; working knowledge of C++ is a plus
- Experience with robot modeling (URDF/MJCF/USD), rigid body dynamics, and sensor simulation
- Familiarity with ROS 2 and standard robotics middleware and tooling
- Solid understanding of 3D math: transforms, kinematics, coordinate frames
- Comfort working in Linux environments and with GPU‑accelerated compute
- Experience with Isaac Lab, Isaac Replicator, or other RL/synthetic data frameworks
- Background in sim‑to‑real transfer, domain randomization, or system identification
- Experience simulating mobile robots, manipulators, or off‑road/field robotics
- Familiarity with photorealistic rendering, material authoring, or procedural scene generation
- Experience with CI/CD for simulation‑based testing at scale
- Prior work at a robotics, autonomous vehicle, or physical AI company
