Cloud Engineer - Software, DevOps, Software Engineer
We're partnering with a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company solving one of the biggest challenges facing artificial intelligence today: power. As AI models continue to grow, access to electricity has become one of the largest constraints on scaling AI infrastructure. This company is building the software platform that enables AI data centers to intelligently adjust their energy consumption in real time, allowing them to work with the electrical grid rather than against it.
The result is more AI compute capacity, a more resilient grid, and faster adoption of renewable energy. Backed by leading investors, including NVIDIA, the company recently raised a $68M Seed round and is scaling its engineering team as it continues to build the software powering the next generation of AI infrastructure.
As a Software Engineer on the Grid Services team, you'll build the systems that connect AI data centers directly to the electric grid. You'll develop production software that integrates with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and wholesale electricity markets, enabling data centers to participate in demand response programs and energy markets. Your work will involve ingesting real-time grid signals, building forecasting and optimization systems, and translating complex market rules into highly reliable software.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, optimization, and energy, helping solve one of the most important infrastructure challenges facing AI.
- Build integrations with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, aggregators, and demand response platforms
- Develop optimization and control software that determines how AI data centers respond to grid conditions
- Build forecasting systems for electricity demand, pricing, and grid conditions
Design reliable data pipelines that process real-time operational and market data - Translate complex electricity market rules into production software
- Own services from design through deployment, monitoring, and long-term operation
- Collaborate closely with platform, controls, and AI infrastructure teams
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
- Strong SQL and data engineering skills
- Experience working in electricity markets, utilities, demand response, or related energy systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, or SPP markets
- OR-Tools, Gurobi, Pyomo, cvxpy, or similar optimization frameworks
