Are you a product engineer who gets restless when you're too far from the user? Do you want full ownership of building a second product from scratch, at a platform already used by thousands of engineering teams at some of the most recognised companies in the world?
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing, profitable startup at the forefront of AI infrastructure, building the compliance and reliability layer that enterprise customers like Adobe, Netflix, and NASA depend on in production. Backed by top-tier investors, the team has built the world s most widely used LLM Gateway, a unified platform that gives developers secure, scalable access to every major LLM provider.
The company is now building its second product, and this is the person who leads that charge. The role sits in the gap between engineering and product — you ll spend time with customers understanding what they actually need, then come back and build it. The scope shifts week to week: sometimes that means designing a new API surface, sometimes it means rethinking how a developer first experiences the platform, sometimes it means prototyping something nobody has asked for yet but clearly should exist.
What stays constant is the expectation that you own the outcome, not just the implementation.
Strong equity in an already profitable company before their Series A makes the timing particularly interesting. If you’re a true builder who enjoys talking to users and having a big impact on major product decisions, this is an excellent role.
The Role- Own the build of the company s second major product from concept through to production
- Work directly with customers to understand pain points and validate solutions before writing a line of code
- Ship quickly and iterate based on real user feedback, without letting the quality bar slip
- Design backend APIs and services in Python and FastAPI, and build intuitive developer experiences across the API, dashboard, and CLI
- Prototype new ideas, own major product areas, and improve them continuously over time
- Collaborate directly with the founders on product direction and technical decisions
- Strong academic background (degree from a top university), with something notable done outside of coursework during that time (founding a club, competing in a serious extracurricular, leading a team etc.)
- Comfortable moving across the stack when the problem requires it: backend, frontend, infrastructure, APIs
- Strong product intuition and genuine curiosity about how developers use software
- High ownership by default: you spot problems and fix them without waiting to be asked
- Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information in a fast-moving environment
- Bonus: experience at an early-stage startup, open source contributions, or you ve built and shipped your own product
