Role DescriptionLead Software Engineer roles with the opportunity to make significant, measurable impact for users. The role emphasizes writing high-quality, maintainable code, contributing to product stability, and fostering team growth. This position supports a hybrid work model and encourages growth across the team. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will: envision and build new components/frameworks in distributed file systems to provide scale and efficiency;
design and develop production-ready code for a cloud platform used by millions; build efficient components/algorithms in a microservice, multi-tenant SaaS distributed file system environment; engage in code reviews, mentoring, and provide technical guidance.
- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utilities; update or enhance existing software capabilities.
- Contribute to the Scrum team through code reviews, deployment automation, documentation, refinement, planning, and retrospectives.
- Lead, collaborate, communicate, and mentor others on the team and in the company.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver a roadmap aligned with shared business goals.
- Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations to improve scalability, robustness, and availability.
- Troubleshoot issues with services the team develops and owns.
- Participate in on-call rotations to keep services operational and highly available.
- Create, maintain, and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members.
- Extensive experience in systems design and programming languages; 12+ years of software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of designing distributed file systems (on-premises and cloud).
- Strong object-oriented programming and scripting knowledge (e.g., Java, Python) with SQL proficiency and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience developing SaaS products on public cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale; proficiency with queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, and workload distribution; strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
- Understanding of software development best practices and ability to demonstrate leadership skills.
- Design patterns, Big Data/ML experience, and S3; hands-on experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka) and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker.
- Experience working in a high-paced, rapidly growing multinational organization.

Compensation: the base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually; in certain cities, ranges may be higher. This base range excludes bonuses, equity, and benefits. Details may vary by location.
