Visual & Micro-Interaction Designer

The Role

We’re looking for a designer who obsessively cares about how things feel on the UI – the 200 ms fade that makes a page alive, the hover state that invites a click, the scroll animation that keeps users engaged.

The Wefunder platform handles real money, so the difference between a UI that feels trustworthy and one that feels sketchy is in micro‑details such as timing curves, easing functions, loading states, and transitions between views. You will collaborate with the Lead Designer and engineers to bring polish and life to every surface of the product, choreographing how the whole experience moves.

We sponsor visas when required.

Our HQ is in San Francisco with two offices, one in the Mission and one in Seacliff with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We’re a small team of about 30 people who move fast and avoid bureaucracy.

We value autonomy, responsibility, and learning. When we have downtime, we travel together – a 10‑day train across the country, stopping in 12 cities – and share interests from kickboxing to chess.

• Use AI tools to prototype and build:
  Cursor, Claude, Replit, Midjourney, or other tools that speed up your workflow.
• Fluent in code: read and write CSS, work with React components, and implement animations directly in the codebase.
• Visual storytelling: understand how motion, color, and typography combine to create emotional responses. Build landing pages that feel exciting and settings pages that feel calm.
• Systems thinker: create reusable motion patterns and interaction primitives that work across the product for consistency at scale.

Investment Flow Polish

The moment someone invests on Wefunder should feel significant – not like clicking “Add to Cart.” Design the transitions, confirmations, and celebratory moments that make investing feel like the big deal it is.

Page Transitions & Scroll Animations
:
Design and implement scroll‑driven animations, page transitions, and reveal patterns for our marketing pages and founder profiles that keep users rolling.

Micro‑Interaction Library
:
Build a library of reusable micro‑interactions—button hovers, card expansions, modal entrances, toast notifications—to give the entire product a cohesive, polished feel.

Dark Mode Transitions
:
Push dramatic light‑to‑dark transitions further so the mode shifts feel cinematic, not just a color swap.
