ABOUT RETOOL
Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software for critical operations such as tracking performance metrics, handling support workflows, building admin dashboards, and countless other processes. Most companies lack the resources to properly invest in these tools, resulting in outdated, clunky internal software or manual spreadsheet workflows. AI has changed who can build software, opening the field to analysts, operators, and domain experts.
Retool builds a platform that makes all of this safe, allowing users to combine any AI tool, deploy it in a single place that connects to real business data, enforces enterprise policies automatically, and lets teams create once and reuse everywhere with shared, trusted components. The cost of building software has collapsed, but governing it has not, and that is the problem we solve.
Developers and domain experts have already automated over 100 million hours on our platform, freeing them to focus on creative problem‑solving and strategic work that drives real business value. The people closest to the problem can now build the software to solve it safely and within enterprise guardrails. Let’s build the future together.
We’re looking for a Product Manager to own and drive critical work streams on Retool’s Enterprise Platform team. This team builds the platform layer that governs how organizations adopt, secure, and scale Retool so their teams can build and run apps, automations, and AI agents confidently across the enterprise. The platform stack spans deployment infrastructure, permissions and access controls, audit logging, admin tooling, API / MCP integrations, and more.
As AI agents and AI‑powered workflows become central to how enterprises build and operate on Retool, both the deployment infrastructure and governance layer need to evolve. You’ll own focused projects, drive them end‑to‑end, scope the problem, make trade‑offs, ship, and iterate with customers. Your work is technically complex, high‑stakes, and directly tied to the ability of our largest customers to trust and expand their use of Retool.
You’ll demonstrate strong execution across a couple of high‑impact projects, get deep into the details, lead across engineering, product, and design, partner closely with go‑to‑market, and build direct relationships with our most valued customers. You’ll need to be decisive, technically sharp, and comfortable pushing back when priorities compete. The right person brings platform instincts – building scalable solutions rather than reactive, piecemeal features – and joins a small, experienced team that values clear thinking, speed, and direct communication.
THIS ROLE, YOU'LL
Your goal is to make it simple for enterprises to adopt, deploy, and trust Retool across their organization – including as AI agents and autonomous workflows become a core part of how they build. That means ensuring our deployment infrastructure is robust and scalable, meets security, compliance, and governance requirements, and keeps pace with the growing power of what is built on Retool.
- Simplify deploying and managing Retool across different customer environments, ensuring our infrastructure handles compute, scaling, and reliability demands of AI‑powered workloads.
- Evolve permissions, audit logging, and compliance controls to meet enterprise needs without adding friction for developers.
- Define the right API and infrastructure‑as‑code surfaces (API, Terraform, MCP, etc.) for enterprise platform teams to manage Retool at scale.
- Reduce the operational burden on customers adopting Retool – making onboarding and expansion feel seamless.
- Build governance primitives that are flexible for diverse org structures but opinionated enough to be useful out of the box.
- Determine deployment infrastructure, governance, permissioning, and resource controls enterprises need to run AI agents and autonomous workflows reliably and safely at scale.
- Drive projects end‑to‑end – from discovery through launch – without needing hand‑holding.
- Make decisions and own trade‑offs rather than seeking broad consensus.
- Work closely with engineering on deeply…
