Fiddle is an early-stage startup in San Francisco building a new category of design tooling: an IDE for taste-makers that pairs a codebase with an infinite canvas to bridge the gap between design and production.

Join a small founding team in San Francisco as a Software Engineer owning frontend architecture. You will build high-performance canvas virtualization and component systems that allow designers to work directly with production code. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of creative tools and engineering where interface is the product.

• Join an elite founding team including a designer-founder and lead engineers formerly of Razorpay and Zepto to build a category-defining tool.
• Work in a high-density, in-person environment in San Francisco where "taste is the only moat" and craft is prioritized above all else.
• Own the core architecture of a product that replaces painful handoffs and static mockups with an infinite canvas paired directly with production code.

• Architect the core product interface and implement complex virtualization to support an infinite canvas with seamless scaling and high-performance rendering.
• Develop sophisticated component systems that pull production code into the editor, enabling designers and engineers to collaborate within a single environment.
• Build robust branching and version control features to ensure that users can prototype rapidly and ship experiences straight to production safely.

• Possesses deep frontend craft with expert-level knowledge of React, Vite, and Tailwind, and a history of building complex, performant, and interactive UIs.
• Demonstrates a product-first mindset and "founding energy," ideally with previous experience as a founder or at an early-stage, high-growth startup.
• Values intense debate and feedback as a means to improve the product and has a track record of shipping high-quality creative or technical tools.
