Founding Backend Engineer

$130k–$180k + Equity

Jarmin is a San Francisco-based YC F25 startup building AI employees for human-level roles, founded by an elite engineering team from Meta Super Intelligence Labs, Apple, and AWS.

As our first backend hire, you will architect the distributed systems and orchestration layer powering our AI agents. You ll own critical infrastructure from day one, transforming complex agent workflows into reliable, scalable business outcomes. This high-impact role involves building internal tools, hacking prototypes, and shaping the future of work alongside a world-class founding team.

• Join an elite founding team from Meta Super Intelligence Labs, Apple, and AWS at the ground floor of a YC F25 startup.
• Build the core orchestration layer for autonomous AI employees capable of replacing full human roles like ML engineers and paralegals.
• Secure a significant founding equity stake of 0.5–5% while solving some of the most complex distributed systems challenges in AI.

• Design and scale the distributed infrastructure that schedules, executes, and monitors complex multi-agent workflows reliably at scale.
• Build the critical orchestration layer that enables AI agents to understand proprietary data and embed into existing business systems.
• Develop internal developer tools and rapid prototypes to accelerate the team s ability to iterate on new AI agent capabilities.

• You have deep professional experience building and operating complex backend architectures and distributed systems at scale.
• You are a relentless builder who ships code constantly, thrives in high-ownership environments, and maintains an exceptionally high quality bar.
• You are passionate about the future of AI agents and enjoy solving novel, ambiguous problems in an in-person, San Francisco-based culture.
