Company Description

We're representing a fast-growing robotics company building AI-powered warehouse automation systems that enable flexible, intelligent packaging for some of the world's largest third-party logistics providers. Their robots combine cutting-edge machine learning, computer vision, and robotics software to automate complex warehouse operations that have traditionally been difficult to scale.

With more than $45 million in funding and over 100 engineers, the company has built one of the industry's largest deployed fleets of autonomous robots operating continuously in production environments. As they continue to expand, they're seeking a Robotics Infrastructure Engineer to own the systems that keep their robots reliable while building AI-powered engineering automation that accelerates development across the organization.

What

You Will Do
  • Own and improve the infrastructure that powers a fleet of production robots operating in real-world customer environments.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based robotics software, Linux environments, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Partner directly with the CTO to identify engineering bottlenecks and build systems that improve developer productivity across the company.
  • Build AI-powered engineering agents that automate debugging, testing, infrastructure management, security checks, and deployment workflows.
  • Debug complex production issues spanning robotics hardware, operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Design simulation, testing, and validation infrastructure to enable rapid software development without requiring physical robots.
  • Build and maintain reproducible infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code and modern build systems.
  • Improve deployment reliability, observability, and operational tooling supporting a large robotics fleet.
  • Collaborate across robotics, infrastructure, and software engineering teams to improve platform scalability and engineering velocity.
  • Drive automation initiatives that eliminate manual operational work while improving system reliability.
Ideal Background
  • 3+ years of experience in robotics infrastructure, systems engineering, platform engineering, or similar infrastructure-focused roles.
  • Strong Python programming experience with systems-level development, asynchronous programming, hardware interfaces, and process management.
  • Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking, containers, and operating systems.
  • Experience owning CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience working with physical robotics hardware such as robotic arms, cameras, sensors, or autonomous systems.
  • Experience directing AI coding agents to automate engineering workflows, debugging, or infrastructure management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline from a top U.S. university.
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware, operating systems, networking, and distributed software systems.
  • Ability to thrive in highly autonomous startup environments with significant ownership.
Preferred
  • Experience with NixOS or reproducible build systems.
  • Familiarity with robotics middleware, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and distributed robotics software.
  • Experience building cloud infrastructure supporting fleets of autonomous systems.
  • Background at robotics, autonomous vehicle, aerospace, or industrial automation companies.
  • Active Git Hub profile demonstrating systems programming, infrastructure, or open-source contributions.
  • Experience with low-level operating system development, embedded Linux, or real-time systems.
  • Passion for solving complex cross-stack engineering challenges with a pragmatic, iterative approach.
  • Interest in AI-powered developer tooling and engineering automation.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary: $120,000–$175,000.
  • Competitive equity package.
  • Visa sponsorship available for exceptional candidates.
  • Five-day onsite collaboration in Watertown, Massachusetts.
  • Opportunity to work directly with the CTO on mission-critical infrastructure initiatives.
  • Significant ownership over the systems supporting one of the industry's largest production robotics fleets.
  • Join a well-funded robotics company combining AI, infrastructure, and autonomous systems to transform warehouse automation.
  • Opportunity to build AI-powered engineering automation while working across robotics software, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.
