Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed startup building an AI-native commerce platform, with an AI agent as the primary interface for merchants. They already have a live product with a meaningful and growing user base and a substantial codebase, and they are moving fast. We're partnering with them to find a full-stack engineer who wants real ownership at an early stage.

You'll own features end-to-end across the entire product — back end and front end — and treat the front end as a genuine product surface rather than just implementing designs. This is a high-velocity environment where you ship quickly, iterate on real user feedback, and work closely with a small team to move the product forward.

What you'll be doing

• Build across the full stack and own features from start to finish.
• Treat the front end as a product surface: understand UX and real user behaviour, not just translate mockups.
• Ship fast and iterate against live user feedback.
• Collaborate directly with the team on product and technical decisions.

Tech stack: Language-agnostic — the team cares far more about system architecture and problem-solving than any specific framework.

• Around 2–3 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
• Strong full-stack ability across both back end and front end.
• Genuine AI fluency — you actively use AI tooling to scale and automate your own work.
• A track record at an engineering-driven company known for a high bar (VC-backed startups strongly preferred).
• Either a strong academic background from a top university, or a builder's path such as dropping out to start something or founding a company.
• Willing to work on-site in San Francisco and to embrace intense, nontraditional startup hours — this is not a 9-to-5.

• Prior experience at a startup or as a founder.
• A portfolio of personal projects or products you've built and shipped.

• Build an AI-native product where an AI agent sits at the center of the experience.
• Join early, with real users and an established codebase, and own meaningful features end-to-end.
• Fast-moving, high-agency team with relocation support to San Francisco.

• Work policy: On-site; relocation costs covered (e.g. flights to San Francisco)
• Compensation: $200,000–$250,000 + equity
