As a Lead Architect at JPMorgan

Chase within Infrastructure Platforms Digital Workflows Product Line, you own the architecture for a defined area of the Service Now platform and guide teams toward designs that are secure, resilient, operable, and outcomes‑driven. You partner with product, engineering, platform, and control stakeholders to define target‑state architecture, enable delivery through hands‑on technical leadership, and ensure solutions meet firm standards for risk, performance, and reliability.

You foster an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives improve decisions, execution, and long‑term platform health.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead Service Now platform and solution architecture for strategic initiatives from discovery through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Define target‑state architectures, reference designs, and reusable patterns across workflow, data model, CMDB alignment, identity/access, and environment strategy.
  • Drive architecture governance by facilitating design reviews, documenting decisions and trade‑offs (e.g., ADRs), and aligning stakeholders to standards.
  • Partner with engineering teams to translate non‑functional requirements into implementable designs for availability, performance, scalability, security, and observability.
  • Own the integration strategy between Service Now and upstream/downstream systems using APIs, events, and middleware patterns that are supportable at scale.
  • Identify architectural risks and constraints early, and propose pragmatic mitigation plans and phased roadmaps that balance speed with control.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and control partners to manage dependencies, align priorities, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Mentor engineers and architects through design coaching, implementation guidance, and constructive review to raise the technical bar across teams.
  • Champion automation, reusability, and engineering excellence to reduce manual effort and improve reliability across the Service Now delivery lifecycle.
  • Optimize platform performance and operability by guiding instrumentation, logging/monitoring strategies, capacity planning, and incident learnings into design updates.
  • Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture discovery and decisioning, with human‑in‑the‑loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
Required Qualifications , Capabilities, And Skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure architecture concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of Service Now architecture and core concepts, including data model design, workflows/flows, security roles, and performance considerations.
  • Proven ability to define and socialize target‑state architectures, integration patterns, and reference designs across multiple teams.
  • Strong command of modern integration approaches (API‑led, event‑driven patterns) and distributed system design principles.
  • Experience designing for non‑functional requirements, including resiliency, scalability, security, observability, and disaster recovery.
  • Ability to evaluate trade‑offs across scope, risk, operability, cost, and time‑to‑deliver—then guide teams to practical decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing without authority and building alignment across competing priorities.
  • Consistent track record of producing high‑quality architecture documentation (e.g., ADRs, NFRs, diagrams) that enables governed delivery.
  • Commitment to inclusive teamwork, using clear, respectful communication and encouraging diverse perspectives in technical decisions.
  • Experience applying enterprise‑authorized AI capabilities within the work environment in software engineering and architecture…
