Software Engineer, Forward Deployed

Builds customer-facing autonomous agents—lots of agent/AI-focused work and rapid, customer-driven prototyping.

Forward Deployed Software Engineer focused on building customer-facing, agent-first solutions that solve complex problems for Ramp’s largest enterprise customers. Deliver end-to-end software, collaborate with sales and customer teams, and drive product roadmap decisions for embedding Ramp into large customers' workflows.

As a Software Engineer, Forward Deployed you will work on Ramp’s Core FDE team to build customer-facing, agent-first solutions for large and complex customers. You will deliver end-to-end software, understand customer pain points, influence product decisions, and build agents that autonomously implement solutions.

• Deliver end-to-end software that meets the needs of Ramp’s largest customers, including scoping product specs and implementing solutions.
• Build and ship agents and agent-driven features that autonomously expand Ramp’s capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, and Account Management to activate customers, close deals, and expand account value.
• Drive the core product engineering roadmap within an embedding model, specialize in a core product area, develop deep domain expertise, and make prioritization decisions about custom vs. broader solutions.

• Typically 3+ years of software engineering experience (preferred).
• Extensive experience building with and for agents.
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality products at scale.
• Comfort and enthusiasm for being customer-facing and working directly with customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously learn, and improve craft.
