Role Description
You’ll own a core part of WhirlAI’s data platform: the connectors that replicate data from CRMs and other core business systems into our platform in near real time using CDC. As a senior IC, you’ll both improve our existing connectors and build new ones from scratch, setting technical direction on connector architecture with minimal oversight.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and build new data connectors, and improve existing ones, replicating data from a range of source systems into our platform.

• Strengthen and extend our core CDC infrastructure so improvements compound across every connector.

• Optimize ingestion performance, meet with customers, and troubleshoot issues to ensure fast, secure, and reliable data transfer from external systems.

• Raise the technical bar for the team by example: code, design reviews, and informal mentorship without formal reporting responsibilities.

• Partner with Product and customers to understand business requirements and translate them into concrete data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience designing, building, and owning large-scale systems in production

• A track record of owning complex projects from design through launch, with the ability to weigh hard tradeoffs and drive to completion

• Deep experience with high-performance, scalable software in a distributed, cloud-scale environment.

• Strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of relational databases.

• Real experience with CDC systems (log-based or event-based replication, schema drift, checkpointing, and delivery guarantees)

• A strong point of view on infrastructure and API design, backed by things you’ve actually built and maintained.
