The Sr. Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains software applications and services with a primary focus on the Microsoft .NET technology stack. This position provides technical expertise throughout the software development lifecycle, develops complex software capabilities, supports reliable and secure application delivery, and collaborates with engineering and business partners to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Essential Functions- Design, develop, document, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services using C# and the .NET platform.
- Serve as a technical resource on software development projects, providing guidance on application design, development approaches, and engineering best practices.
- Drive activities throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
- Develop and maintain APIs, services, and application components using modern .NET development practices.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and specifications.
- Design solutions that support maintainability, scalability, reliability, and application performance.
- Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests as part of the software delivery process.
- Participate in code reviews and provide actionable feedback to maintain code quality, security, and engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot complex application defects and production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support and enhance existing applications while developing new capabilities based on business and customer needs.
- Evaluate technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices for potential implementation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and other stakeholders to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver software capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Software Engineers and other team members as appropriate.
- Support automated build, deployment, and continuous integration/continuous delivery processes.
- Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
- Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent relevant education, training, and work experience.
- Typically has 5 years of experience or demonstrated portfolio consistent with experience required of the role.
- Demonstrated software development experience using C# and .NET.
- Experience developing applications or services using modern .NET frameworks, such as .NET and ASP.NET Core.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
