AboutThe Role
We are seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to help build and evolve Crunchyroll's connected-device applications.
In this role, you will develop and maintain high-performance streaming experiences on Roku while contributing to shared client architecture, reusable application frameworks, and cross-platform capabilities used across connected devices. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and fellow software engineers to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-focused experiences.
The ideal candidate combines strong development experience with modern software engineering practices and a solid understanding of Type Script, client-side application architecture, and maintainable frontend systems.
In the role of Software Engineer II, Frontend, you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager, LRX Core.

- 2+ years of professional software development experience building production applications.
- Experience developing and maintaining large-scale client-side applications.
- Strong proficiency in Type Script and modern JavaScript.
- Experience building scalable applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, state management, modular design, and reusable component patterns.
- Design, develop, and optimize Living Room applications while contributing to scalable client-side solutions that improve maintainability and performance.
- Contribute to reusable libraries, application frameworks, tooling, and architectural patterns that reduce duplication and improve consistency across applications
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high standards for code quality, testing, reliability, and documentation.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across application layers, including platform-specific behavior, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Optimize application startup time, memory usage, responsiveness, and playback experiences across connected-device environments.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers while helping improve team processes, technical standards, and knowledge sharing.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation for systems, architecture decisions, development workflows, and feature implementations.
