Build the Digital Twin, Simulation, and Physical AI Systems Behind Autonomous Robotics
Autzu is building autonomous operations infrastructure where vehicles, robots, equipment, and software work together with minimal human intervention.
We’re looking for a Senior Physical AI Engineer to build the simulation, digital twin, perception, and learning systems that allow our robotics platform to understand and interact with the physical world.
This role sits at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, simulation, machine learning, and Physical AI.
About the RoleYou’ll build digital representations of our hubs, vehicles, robotics systems, and equipment, develop physics-based simulations, generate synthetic data, train and evaluate robot models and policies, and bridge those systems into real-world deployment.
You’ll also develop the perception systems that allow robots to understand vehicles, objects, geometry, and their physical environment.
What You’ll Do- Build digital twins of hubs, vehicles, robots, and equipment
- Develop physics-based robot, environment, and sensor simulations
- Create scenario-generation systems for robotic testing and training
- Develop camera, depth, and LiDAR perception systems
- Build 3D understanding, localization, and pose-estimation capabilities
- Train and evaluate robot models and policies
- Apply reinforcement learning and imitation learning
- Use domain randomization to improve robustness and generalization
- Develop sim-to-real workflows and validation methodologies
- Build Physical AI systems for robotic interaction
- Deploy perception and learned models onto robotic and edge platforms
- Work closely with systems, software, and robotics engineers
- Participate directly in physical testing and robotics pilot deployments
- 5+ years of experience in robotics perception, simulation, computer vision, Physical AI, autonomous systems, or related fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Strong Python and/or C++ experience
- Strong experience with PyTorch or similar ML frameworks
- Strong computer vision background
- Experience with camera, depth, or LiDAR-based perception
- Experience with 3D geometry and pose estimation
- Experience with ROS2
- Experience with simulation environments for robotics or autonomous systems
- Experience taking models from simulation into physical or production systems
- Experience deploying perception or AI onto real robotic systems
- Ability to work full-time on-site in the Bay Area
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, AI, or Autonomous Systems
- Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse
- Experience with Isaac Sim
- Experience with Isaac Lab or Isaac ROS
- Experience with Cosmos or GR00T
- Experience with Replicator or OpenUSD
- Experience generating synthetic data for robotics
- Experience with reinforcement or imitation learning
- Experience with CUDA or TensorRT
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, industrial automation, or mobility
- Experience building sim-to-real robotics systems
- Build the simulation and Physical AI foundation from the ground up
- Work directly with our CTO and founding robotics team
- Build digital twins tied directly to real-world hub operations
- Train intelligence that eventually operates physical machines
- Take systems from simulation to real-world deployment
- Help launch our first robotics pilot hub
- Own a major portion of Autzu’s Physical AI roadmap
- Grow into broader technical leadership as the organization scales
If you want to move AI out of the screen and into machines operating in the physical world, we’d love to meet you.
