San Francisco University High School (UHS) is seeking an Assistant Swimming Coach to support a dynamic, student-centered interscholastic program. The assistant coach will work closely with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to develop student-athletes, contribute to a positive team culture, and support competitive success across all levels of the program.
Position OverviewThis position works closely with the Co-Head Coaches to foster a positive, competitive, and development-focused team culture aligned with UHS Athletics values. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in athlete instruction, team supervision, and program operations.
Responsibilities- Assist with planning and conducting daily practices, including stroke instruction, conditioning, and skill development.
- Support meet preparation and execution, including warm-ups, race strategy, and post-race feedback.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, and team travel.
- Reinforce team standards related to sportsmanship, accountability, and respect.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and athletic department staff.
- Assist with administrative duties as needed, including attendance, equipment management, and meet logistics.
- Model professionalism and uphold all University High School and CIF/NCS policies.
- Support a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
- Previous swimming and/or coaching experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of competitive swimming techniques and training principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to student‑athlete development, both in and out of the pool.
- Availability for afternoon practices, competitions, and occasional weekend events.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to season).

CompensationThis is a seasonal, hourly-based position. Compensation is $27.50/HR.
