Position Summary
The Youth Sports Coach is responsible for leading and supporting youth sports programs, organizing practices and game days, and fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all participants, families, and fellow coaches. This role includes coaching during sports leagues and clinics, facilitating structured and engaging practices, overseeing after school sports programs, managing equipment, and ensuring a safe gym environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development and sports and possesses strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Our programs focus on teamwork, skill-building, and fun. We are looking for a passionate Youth Sports Coach to help inspire, mentor, and guide our young athletes in a safe and supportive environment.
Job Responsibilities
Coaching & Program Leadership
- Lead and coach youth teams across multiple sports, creating a positive and inclusive experience for all participants.
- Deliver high level sports programming at after school sites and during leagues and clinics.
Practice & Game Day Preparation
- Plan and facilitate structured and engaging practices.
- Organize drills and activities to develop fundamental skills and teamwork.
- Ensure all participants, coaches, and families feel welcomed and included.
Equipment & Facility Management
- Maintain and organize sports equipment, ensuring accessibility and proper storage.
- Ensure all facilities are prepared for practices and games.
Game Management & Safety
- Officiate games as needed, promoting fair play and sportsmanship.
- Keep accurate scores and record game statistics as required.
- Monitor the gym and playing areas to ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching or playing sports, preferably in a youth setting.
- Knowledge of at least one sport, with the ability to learn and support additional sports as needed (e.g., basketball, volleyball, football, baseball, or soccer).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and fellow coaches.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to officiate games and support scorekeeping (training can be provided).
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and safe space for all participants.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role takes place in gymnasiums, outdoor fields, and other sports facilities, requiring frequent standing, running, and active participation in games and drills. Coaches may need to lift and carry sports equipment (up to 25 lbs) and work in various weather conditions for outdoor activities. Work hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on sports schedules.
