Job DescriptionUHS is seeking a dynamic and energetic Girls/Boys JV Tennis Head Coach. The coach reports to the Varsity Head Coach and is responsible for the support of the girls/boys tennis program, including conducting practices, motivating students, teaching game strategies and techniques, and fostering an appreciation of physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The position requires travel and work on weekends and evenings.
Responsibilities- Help coordinate and supervise the Girls/Boys Tennis program.
- Ensure that university and league policies, rules, and regulations regarding the conduct of athletic activities and student‑athletes are followed.
- Work with the Varsity Head Coach and Athletic Department to plan and organize practices and game schedules.
- Maintain a safe environment for student‑athletes at all times.
- Ensure regular supervision of student‑athletes at home and away games and appropriate behavior.
- Ensure that student‑athletes adhere to training rules, class and grade requirements, and behavior rules on the court, in conditioning, and in the team room.
- Interact thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, parents, and officials. Resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
- Represent University professionally in all community interactions.
- Ensure proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms.
- Make recommendations regarding the purchase of uniforms, equipment, and supplies and manage inventory.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
- Attend work regularly and be punctual to all practices and games.
- Obtain advance approval for the Athletic Director for all team‑related expenditures.
- Manage other duties as assigned.
- Experience as a tennis coach at the high school or college level.
- Knowledgeable of the fundamentals and techniques of competitive tennis.
- Ability to play in training sessions when needed.
- Strong organizational skills and systems.
- CPR/First Aid certificates required.
This is a seasonal, part‑time job. Salary: $8,000.
