Readiness and Response Operator 2 (CA-ONLY)

As an RR2 (Readiness and Response Operator
2), you are a critical Client of the Robotaxi passenger experience and fleet uptime. You are responsible for the on-time readiness of our public-facing autonomous vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and technical performance.

This role is a unique blend of technical execution and field operations. You are not only a specialist in vehicle preparation but also a primary responder for on-road incident recovery. You will act as the face of the company during recovery events, assisting riders and remotely operating vehicles when necessary to keep the mission moving. While your focus is the Service Fleet, you remain a cross-functional resource capable of supporting the Test Fleet as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Robotaxi Mission Readiness:
Execute high-precision daily pre-service and post-service checks for the autonomous Robotaxi fleet. This includes mechanical inspections, meticulous sensor verification, and data-processing procedures to ensure 100% mission availability.
  • Active Fleet Response & Recovery:
Serve as a primary responder for in-field vehicle recovery and repositioning on public roads. Coordinate safe extractions, document incidents in real-time, and support vehicle loading/unloading during recovery scenarios.
  • Remote Vehicle Operation:
Operate autonomous vehicles using remote input devices as required to facilitate recovery, repositioning, or movement through complex environments.
  • Rider Support & Concierge:
Provide professional, empathetic assistance to passengers during recovery events. Ensure safe vehicle entry/exit, provide light concierge support, and educate the public/riders about our technology during high-traffic moments at PUDO (Pick-Up/Drop-Off) sites.
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Flashing:
Use terminal commands and internal GUIs to troubleshoot system blockers, power cycle hardware, or flash vehicle firmware to return a vehicle to an operational state.
  • Fleet Uptime & Quality:
Maintain a premium passenger environment through rigorous interior/exterior detailing. Manage routine charging cycles and infrastructure upkeep to ensure maximum fleet throughput for public operating hours.
  • Logistics & New Market Enablement:
Support the movement and storage of vehicles across multiple sites. Assist in the stand-up of new service markets, including vehicle deployment, site organization, and local readiness audits.
  • Consumables & Inventory:
Manage the readiness of fleet consumables (cleaning supplies, interior amenities, minor hardware), ensuring tracking and replenishment to prevent service disruptions.
Requirements
  • Safety:
Strict adherence to all safety protocols and the consistent use of required PPE.
  • Compliance:
Must pass a background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, and drug screen. Must comply with the Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Program as required for public passenger service.
  • Experience:

2–4 years of work experience in a fast-paced environment that blends logistics with customer service (e.g., hospitality, aviation ground ops, emergency response, or fleet management).
  • Execution:
Proven ability to execute complex procedures with a high degree of accuracy and a "customer-first" sense of urgency.
  • Technical Aptitude:
Comfort using terminal commands, mobile devices, laptops, and remote operation interfaces (Rovebot) to manage vehicle states and report anomalies.
  • Driving:
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean/excellent driving record. Experience with precision driving in high-traffic urban environments is a plus.
  • Physicality:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts in both a workshop and public road environment.
  • Composure:
Proven track record of maintaining a calm, professional demeanor during high-pressure situations or unexpected disruptions on public roads.

This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements.
