Job Description & How to Apply Below
A confidential employer is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support the accurate receipt, storage, packaging, inventory control, and shipment of goods.
The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and experienced in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics within a manufacturing environment. This individual thrives in a fast-paced setting and is committed to quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
What you will do:- Receive inbound deliveries: unload trucks, verify against POs and packing slips, inspect for damage, and document discrepancies
- Process receipts in our inventory system, tag assets, and route items to the right team, lab, or storage location the same day
- Deliver packages and equipment internally across floors and buildings, including sensitive and high-value hardware
- Pick, pack, and ship outbound: parcels, RMAs, inter-site transfers, and palletized freight
- Prepare shipments containing lithium batteries and other regulated items per carrier and DOT requirements, with training provided
- Schedule carrier pickups, manage the dock calendar, and coordinate loading zone access with building staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock, mailroom, and storage area
- Operate pallet jacks and, once certified, forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Support inter-site moves of equipment and robots between San Francisco locations and Fremont
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and asset tracking accuracy
- Flag process gaps and help build the SOPs for a new function
- 1+ years in shipping, receiving, warehouse, mailroom, or logistics operations
- Experience with inventory or receiving software, or strong comfort learning new systems quickly
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Receiving accuracy directly affects engineering timelines
- Able to prioritize on the fly when multiple urgent deliveries land at once
- Clear communicator, comfortable coordinating with engineers, facilities, and delivery drivers
- Forklift certification a plus, or willingness to get certified. We will pay for training
- Valid driver's license preferred for inter-site runs
- Experience handling electronics, lab equipment, or other high-value or fragile goods
- Hazmat or dangerous goods shipping training (lithium batteries)
- Experience at a hardware, robotics, or manufacturing company
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and team-lift heavier items. On your feet for most of the day in dock, warehouse, and office environments. Occasional early morning receiving windows for freight deliveries.
