Mandarin Bilingual Tutor – Math & Other Subjects

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in San Gabriel to hire Mandarin‑bilingual tutors who will focus primarily on math (Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry) but may also support other subjects as needed. Tutoring sessions occur during school hours and involve students in grades 9–12.

You will actively supervise students to help them close learning gaps developed over the past school year.

You must be comfortable passing an in‑person background check.

$21–25 per hour – the exact rate is determined at the time of interview and depends on education and experience.

• Work with groups of students without teacher support or school staff.
• Prepare space for tutoring sessions.
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated school areas.
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress in the Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments as requested by management.
• Lead a group of students in tutoring, using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage with students during tutoring lessons.
• Communicate daily clock‑in/out times via Deputy for shifts.
• Perform any other duties required by the company, manager, or school site.

Monday‑Friday, 11:00 am–3:00 pm – 20 hours per week.

• Music experience preferred but not required.
• Completed an AA or higher, or currently enrolled in college/university.
• Prior tutoring experience working with children.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI‑DOJ background check (provided through Hey Tutor).
